Brief description of the life of former student leader Arifur Rahman (Arif) –

Arifur Rahman Arif is a former student leader of Bangladesh. In 1990, his political career started with one of the most important positions in the Student League of Ramrail Union, Sadar Upazila No. 10, Brahmanbaria. In the 1995-1996 Brahmanbaria Government College student parliament elections, he was elected from theStudent League as literature and debate editor. Due to his popularity, he was elected to the post of Literature and Debate Editor from the only Bangladesh Chhatra League nominated panel from the Student League to the college students’ parliament in that election, BNP government was in power at that time, went against the flow but passed this tough test due to his popularity. As a result, he got a position in the Student League.

Early life:
Arifur Rahman Arif was born in a famous Muslim family in Sohata village of Ramrail Union of Sadar Upazila of Brahmanbaria District. Currently he lives as a permanent resident in Kachait village. His father is deceased Fayzur Rahman (Shishu Bhuiyan) and mother Amirunnesa Bhuiyan. Among three brothers and three sisters, Arifur Rahman (Arif) is the youngest.He passed H.S.C and B.S.S (Pass) from Government College. Later, he studied Political Science (MSS) from Jagannath University. He was a student of admission Brahmanbaria Law College, LLB.

Political Life:
Arifur Rahman Arif was the leader of Brahmanbaria Chhatra League and later Jubo League. In his political life, he has worked with devotion in various posts and designations of Chhatra League and Jubo League.Joint Convener of Ramrail Union Jubo League and Joint General Secretary of Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila South Region Four Union Chhatra League was sitting on 1st post. In 1995-1996, he was elected Literature and Debate Editor from the only Chhatra League of Brahmanbaria Government College Student Parliament.Member, Bangladesh Student League, Brahmanbaria District Branch, Vice President, Bangladesh Student League , Brahmanbaria District Branch, Former General Secretary, Bangabandhu and national four Leader Memorial Parliament Brahmanbaria District Branch, United States Bangabandhu council Central Committee Executive Member and Member Brahmanbaria Government College Student Parliament unity council.

Work life:
Arifur Rahman (Arif) worked as a Unit Manager of Vision 2000 Project of Bangladesh Family Planning Association (FPAB). Later on, he fulfilled his duties as the branch manager of the Human Development Center. He was a first class government contractor of Brahmanbaria L.G.E.D and branch council. Moreover, he had an import/export license. Although he got various positions and titles politically, he never used them to take any advantage in immoral ways. Rather, when the party came to power, he started a contractor business named Mim Enterprise of Sadar Brahmanbaria, it was a first-class government contractor business and was damaged to the tune of one (1) million BDT . All his life he tried to establish himself with his merits.He lived a very simple life and still lives by it.He did not do the politics of consumption, he did the politics of sacrifice. By hard work, he has earned a living for the family, and still manages his family the same way.

Other:
He also held various responsibilities in some other service organizations.He is former General Secretary, Social Environment and Human Rights Implementation Organization, former convener Trading Corporation (T, C, B) Brahmanbaria District Branch, Life Member Bangladesh Red Crescent Unit Brahmanbaria District Branch, former member Chamber of Commerce Brahmanbaria District. He has been a social worker from his student life, and he enjoyed doing it, since then he has been involved with social welfare activities.Currently, Arifur Rahman (Arif) is permanently living in Bridgeport City, Connecticut State, USA with his family. In personal life, lives permanently in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Connecticut, United States, with two daughters and one son.
